Amina are a UK based speaker manufacturer based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. They manufacture ‘invisible’ speaker panels that can be built into the fabric of a building allowing a completely invisible finish but with all the performance of a traditional speaker.
Increasing demand for integrated lifestyle products coupled with the dislike of ‘aesthetic clutter’ has lead to rise of companies such as Amina, allowing all the enjoyment of a traditional multi-room audio system but without any of the associated wires and speakers on display.
After the rooms had it’s wall coverings installed, theres no evidence that there’s been a speaker system installed at all. It’s great for modern designs or where the client doesn’t want to see speaker grilles on the ceiling.
Interior designers and architects love it when we demo Amina to them, the wall coverings are almost limitless so now multi-room audio really can be built into the building with design in mind. We’ve installed Amina behind leather, wood, polished plaster and standard wet skim and they sounds great no matter what the wall finish is.
Because of the design of the speaker panel, Amina speakers have send their audio out at 180° meaning that audio coverage from a single pair of speakers will fill even large rooms with crystal clear audio.
Amina have invented a technology to make this happen, they called it ‘VPT’ (Vibrating panel technology) which means that the entire panel installed in the wall is in fact the speaker, this also means the listening position is much more broad than a traditional speaker making it a perfect solution for minimalist open-plan spaces.
