Cheshire Home Cinema (2020)

Cheshire Home Cinema

A multi-functional cinema and media room, which dynamically transforms dependant on the content being viewed.

Project Brief

Part of a larger home renovation project in Cheshire, this Home Cinema installation was part of the plans before the house started to be renovated, the client wanted a space where the whole family could gather to watch movies, with true to life colour recreation and the ability to watch both TV and movies on the screen, while maximising the size of the screen.

The bigger the better isn’t always better when it comes to screen size, but due to the size of the room it was easy to install a 152″ screen without it overpowering the space.

It was requested for the ability to watch 2 video sources side-by-side utilising the full width of the screen.

Our Solutions

We installed a motorised edge masking screen to allow for the dynamic content change between aspect ratios. When watching movies, the screen widens to account for the ultra-wide letterbox format. This also allowed for 2 side-by-side standard format images to be displayed on the screen when in ultra-wide mode.

We installed a Sim2 Nero4 projector which is in a brightness league of its own at the price point, delivering ultra crisp 4K HDR content to the big screen.

For audio processing we chose Anthem as their room correction software is unrivalled and really brings the best out of any speaker, along with rock solid HDMI switching and audio processing.
