A hidden cinema room upgrade in the heart of Yorkshire, complete with touch screen remote and hidden features.
We were contracted to repair and rescue a home cinema in need of some TLC in a Yorkshire country home. The system was approaching 12 years old and was in need of modernisation to allow the latest features such as streaming services and voice control.
The client request control from a handheld remote as he had been controlling the room via and outdated iPad and the system has grinding to a halt due to age and legacy equipment.
Streaming services and various repairs around the room were required to bring the room up to a 2020 standard.
We tested all the existing equipment thoroughly to determine which parts would be required to make the room more responsive and allow the latest features. It was determined the the core equipment could be re-used as it was of a good standard, although somewhat dated.
We cablibrated the surround sound, projector and repaired some of the Lutron blinds. We removed all the Legacy control equipment and replaced it with a Savant Remote & processor packeage, along with adding an Apple TV to the existing equipment to allow the client access to all the latest streaming services.
We also integrated the existing Lutron lighting system so the lights could be controlled by the Savant Remote.
